Blast was BBC Learning's outreach project which worked to stimulate creativity in 13-19 year olds through workshops and events.

Kevin first got involved with the tour in 2007, running ad-hoc radio workshops. He then developed and delivered cross-tour radio production and journalism workshops and facilitated a cross-tour radio drama workshop...

Ahead of the 2009 & 2010 tours, Kevin worked on the specification, installation and configuration of the audio circuitry, hardware, software and interconnectivity across three trucks for Blast out Loud - a radio station featuring live and pre-recorded audio content from across the tour. The additional facility to pre-record voice links between scheduled items made for an ideal taster activity during drop-in sessions.
